Conflux AMA Series Presents: KardiaChain
Aiming to bring more visibility to great crypto projects in the blockchain space, we have started a series of AMAs (Ask me Anything) with some of our partners.
The second project of the series was with the KardiaChain is the world’s first fully interoperable & non-invasive blockchain platform. KardiaChain “Dual Master Nodes” technology allows KardiaChain to connect with all types of blockchains and perform cross-blockchain data, asset and token transfer with other participating blockchains. KardiaChain’s chief technological innovation is enabling cross-blockchain interoperability between any public and private blockchains — a first of its kind.
Missed the AMA? Not a problem. Below you can find a transcript of this great conversation, and get familiar with KardiaChain team and their project. The following AMA is between Zhe Tang from the Conflux operations team, and Eric Hung Nguyen, Chairman of KardiaChain.
Zhe | Conflux:
You’re the chairman of KardiaChain, can you tell us what that role entails and what does KardiaChain do?
Eric | KardiaChain:
My role focus on shaping strategies to realise Kardiachain vision, dealing with business partners, investor relations and other external businesses matter.
Kardiachain is public blockchain platform focus on interoperability, we able to establish non-invasive connections between public blockchains that will serve as a cornerstone for future blockchain mass adoptions.
Zhe | Conflux:
What do you think of Vietnamese blockchain landscape?
Eric | KardiaChain:
I think Vietnam is a very exciting place for blockchain development. The country possesses economic prosperity to do businesses here. To grow the ecosystem in Vietnam, there will need to be more players like VCs, exchanges, marketing agency and projects working together. It also requires the work with the government, lawmakers for more concrete regulation landscape.
As a leading project in Vietnam, KardiaChain feels the opportunity as well as challenges in connecting not only industry players, but also bridging the gap between blockchain technology, traditional businesses and public sector.
Zhe | Conflux:
We have recently seen a huge surge in blockchain activities in Vietnam, why do you think that is?
Eric | KardiaChain:
I think there a couple of reasons for this. One is that the world is realising that Vietnam is one of the leading country in term of trading volume, so recently a lot of VCs, exchanges and projects came to Vietnam and contacting us to expand their businesses and presence here
Also Vietnam government is making a big push for the 4.0 revolution which is very supportive for blockchain industry, this is also visible that we have government offical as our advisor and major government organisation like Vietnam Football Federation is working with us
Zhe | Conflux:
Why is KardiaChain based in Vietnam, what’s the strategic advantage of being based in HCMC?
Eric | KardiaChain:
One is that all our co-founders are Vietnamese, we understand and have good connections in this market which we able to leverage on. Second is that we also see massive opportunities here and believe that we are very well positioned to bring mass adoption to Vietnam market. Thirdly, the tech resources in Vietnam is plentiful and skilled which provide us with a talent pool that we able to tab and ultilise
We are based in both Hanoi and HCMC, I think the advantage is that we able to meet most if not all major VCs, projects and exchanges when they visit Vietnam (they either come to Hanoi or HCMC) and also give us more access to clients and talent pools
Zhe | Conflux:
Speaking of meeting the VCs and exchanges, can you briefly summarize KardiaChain’s roadmap and development steps up to the present time?
Eric | KardiaChain:
We have recently launched our public Testnet codenamed “Archi” on July 24, 2019! Our talented developers have worked very hard to bring testnet “Archi” live with a peak TPS of 3,016 along with Ethereum, NEO and Tron interoperability capabilities! Our mainnet will come later this year. “Archi” testnet serves as the cornerstone allowing our general users to experience our network and also be a great testing environment for many business partners who are eager to build their solutions/Dapps on our platform.
Zhe | Conflux:
Can you share the vision of KardiaChain?
Eric | KardiaChain:
Our vision is that we believe in a world of equality, by equality we mean “equal opportunities” for people to work, to open a business, access financial services and be socially mobile. We believe that blockchain is the foundation of that world, therefore our goal is to empower the whole blockchain ecosystem through our interoperability technology and adoption that we can bring to the blockchain ecosystem.
Zhe | Conflux:
What are the biggest challenges of the project?
Eric | KardiaChain:
I think our challenges are that we are the pinooner in this blockchain interoperability space and also in Vietnam. But actually what matters more is that there are many adoption opportunities and many partners that are eager to work with us, that we have to be selective to fit with our ecosystem’s overall vision.
Zhe | Conflux:
How does KardiaChain balance the 3 elements: scalability, decentralization and security?
Eric | KardiaChain:
We believe blockchain technology is a crucial foundation block in achieving a future of equality and transparency. However, the current technological state of blockchain does not yet allow for mass adoption.
We intend to balance between the three by scaling through interoperability instead, while still maintain decentralisation (by having non-invasive interop.) and security
Zhe | Conflux:
Recently KardiaChain has many collaborations with strong strategic partners, can you speak through these cooperation areas? What is KardiaChain’s orientation in cooperating together to develop? Is there any future collaboration between KardiaChain and Conflux being discussed?
Eric | KardiaChain:
We have been expanding our business development strongly recently and have got a lot of exciting news to announce. There will be more to come and I’m sure you are highly likely heard of their names. Already-announced partnerships in blockchain field are Contentos, CertiK, Blockcloud, Morpheus Labs. On the traditional site, we are working with Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietfootball to digitise player’s data, looking forward to applying blockchain in donations, prediction games. These are the two organisations managing the whole football ecosystem in Vietnam.
Conflux is a potential project with great team and support from the community. We would be interested in discussing future potential collaboration with Conflux.
Zhe | Conflux:
Please tell us about your first investors. Who are they, and what are the expectations of KardiaChain?
Eric | KardiaChain:
Our first investors are Large ICT companies and corporate in Vietnam, who committed to ultilise our technology when our main net is live. They expect us to deliver top notch technology and also serve as a pioneer to bring blockchain mass adoption to Vietnam and to empower and add innovation to blockchain on the world level.
Zhe | Conflux:
Do you think evolution of blockchain will speed up the process of removing material money from the world, starting from Vietnam?
Eric | KardiaChain:
I definately I think it will, but for Vietnam market I think it will happen different way than what most people think. For Vietnam, the country is under capital controlled and it is still very much a cash-based society, so by replacing paper money not gonna be with BTC, ETH or other cryptocurrencies, but through a system of digital money sponsored by the government (think VNDT). We are actually actively working with regulatory and top state owned enterprises in term of turning Vietnam into a true cash-less society.
Zhe | Conflux:
How soon will we see projects using KardiaChain? What will these projects be?
Eric | KardiaChain:
Very soon actually, I would say as early as Q4 this year. We have already sealed major deals with large businesses in Vietnam, these are traditional businesses that are serving millions of users, they are working with us to bring these users onto the blockchain ecosystem. Like i said earlier, the largest challenge is that we need to priotise our resources as many partners are eager to work with us from adoption side. One insight I can share is that the first Dapp will be in the sport industry (with millions of existing users).
AMA CLOSED
Stay tuned for our next AMA, to be announced very soon! Who would you like to see responding your questions next? Let us know in the comment section below.
Conflux is the State-of-the-Art public blockchain system that can achieve high TPS without sacrificing decentralization or safety. By weaving their DAG 2.0 Tree-graph data structure into Conflux’s PoW consensus algorithm, its testnet has achieved a throughput of 6,500 Transactions Per Second (TPS), while supporting at least 20,000 nodes.
