McDonald’s China has been a prominent player in the country’s fast-food industry, consistently bringing innovation and unique flavors to its vast customer base. In a blend of tradition and technological advancement, the brand took a significant leap into the digital age.
On October 8, 2021, celebrating 31 years of presence in China and coinciding with the opening of their new headquarters in Shanghai, McDonald’s China partnered with Conflux for an exceptional release — the “Big MAC Cube” NFT. Drawing inspiration from the architectural design of their new office space, this digital collectible featured eight dynamic 3D scenes.
With just 188 pieces available, these exclusive NFTs were not put up for sale; instead, they were gifted as a token of appreciation to a select group of employees and consumers, showcasing McDonald’s commitment to innovation and its community in China.
The “Tang Tang” digital token was a big highlight at the “DAO & TAO Discussion in Chang’an WEB3 International Digital Art Festival” held in Xi’an on April 1, 2023. This festival brought together big names in digital art and Web3 technology, as well as lots of fans.
Xi’an, also known as Chang’an in the past, is a city with a rich history, and “Tang Tang” reflects that. Created by the TangDAO community and minted on the Conflux blockchain, its design is inspired by a traditional Chinese greeting.
Owning a “Tang Tang” token means you get special access. You can enter the art festival, join future Web3 courses, attend community meet-ups, and even get priority for international projects. It’s more than just a token; it’s a key to a whole world of digital art and new technology.
More than 5,000 years ago, the ancient Qiang people practiced animism and expressed their hopes for good fortune through geometric patterns embroidered on their clothing.
This unique form of expression gained national recognition in 2008 when Qiang embroidery was officially listed as part of China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
December 3, 2022, the “Core and Edge — From Hehuang to Minjiang River: Millennium Qiang Imagination” cultural tour exhibition took place, spanning four major Chinese cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Beijing.
In a blend of tradition and modern technology, the exhibition organizers utilized AI to craft unique combinations of traditional Qiang embroidery patterns, subsequently minting them as NFTs on the Conflux blockchain. These digital collectibles, referred to as “millennium flowers,” are inspired by various elements found in nature.
Holders of these NFTs were gifted with exclusive physical prints and masks, and a portion of the proceeds from the NFT sales were allocated to support Qiang cultural exhibitions and local farmers’ cooperatives.
This initiative helps protect and promote China’s cultural heritage, making sure the Qiang people’s legacy lives on in the digital age.
Bosie, a well-known gender-inclusive fashion brand in China, continuously explores diverse fashion styles that cater to all genders, ages, and regions, promoting equal access to fashion and beauty.
On January 7, 2022, Bosie launched a collection of 198 digital puzzles, featuring their brand mascot, the “Bosie Goose.” These puzzles were created with a sense of aesthetic and were minted on the Conflux blockchain, merging the brand’s signature style with digital innovation.
Users who obtained these NFTs could interact with the Bosie community and collaborate with friends to assemble the pieces of their puzzle, creating a complete Bosie Goose pixel artwork, accompanied by matching backgrounds. Successful completion of the puzzles could even result in cashback and physical prizes for the participants.
Bosie has started a new trend in social interaction, using NFTs to get people talking and sharing within the community. The Bosie Goose images have become really popular, turning into memes and common topics in online groups.
